Something not working as it should?
My streaming is slow
Last updated: 10/02/2021

While speeds are always variable, felix gives you an unlimited amount of data to use with speeds up to 20Mbps (https://felixmobile.com.au/plan/data-speed/) in felix coverage areas.

For most streaming services, 20Mbps is more than enough to stream video in HD (See: How much speed do video streaming services need for HD quality?).

If you're having troubles, check your speed in real-time for free on websites like http://speedtest.net/. If you're getting less than 20Mbps in your area, you can try toggling the resolution (i.e. moving from HD 1080 to HD 720). Usually, you can toggle between these from the bottom right hand corner of the video itself.

We also have humans on chat from 8am - 8pm AEDT every day if you wanted to get in touch for some troubleshooting.

I am unable to send/receive texts
Last updated: 10/02/2021

There are a couple of steps you can take to try and resolve this issue;

1. Restart your phone. Turning it on and off again will refresh your network connection.

2. Ensure your payments are up to date - log into the felix app to check

3. Check the coverage in your area: https://felixmobile.com.au/network/

4. Try making a phone call. This will confirm where it's an issue with your whole service or just your messaging

5. Free up space in your inbox and sent messages. If your inbox is full, you might not be able to receive or send messages.

Messaging on iPhones

If you’re using an iPhone, check if the message you’re trying to send is enclosed in a blue bubble.

If so, this indicates that it's trying to send an iMessage over the internet, rather than as an SMS, so you will require working mobile data or access to a Wi-Fi network. If you want, you can turn iMessage off on your phone by going to Settings > Messages > toggle 'iMessage' off.

Premium or International texts

Premium rate numbers aren't included in your felix mobile subscription. You can add unlimited international calls and text in the felix app for an extra $5/month. See this article for more information: How much do Unlimited International Calls and Text cost?

If you're still unable to send/receive texts, please reach out to the felix team in the app for help.

I think someone has fraudulently requested to move my mobile number to felix
Last updated: 24/11/2020

That's not good. If you received an SMS from felix mobile but didn't request to switch your number to us, please reply STOP to the SMS to stop the switch. Unauthorised number switching (or 'porting' is the technical word) are often related to banking fraud. To minimise any risk, get in touch with your bank to check for any unauthorised transactions.

Fraudulent activity should also be reported to;

- The Australian Federal Police or the law enforcement agency in your state or territory;

- Scamwatch at https://scamwatch.gov.au/report-a-scam/

- IDCARE at https://idcare.org/contact/get-help/

Are felix SIMs compatible with smart watches?
Last updated: 23/11/2020

felix SIMs don't offer an internet connection for a cellular smart watch.

It's worth noting that if your smart watch is an Apple Watch™, you can still connect to your iOS phone through Bluetooth for calls and text when your phone is nearby.
