If your eSIM isn't working after setup, try these steps:
1. Restart your device: This is often the quickest fix for a newly installed eSIM not working.
2. Check active eSIM in settings: Only one eSIM can be 'on' at a time*. If you have multiple eSIMs on your device, go to your device settings to ensure the correct eSIM is 'on'. Remove or turn off any unused eSIMs. If a call reaches your eSIM while it's 'off', it will send the caller to voicemail.
*Note: An exception is on the iPhone 13 series or later where you can have two eSIMs 'on' simultaneously. More information here.
3. Remove physical SIM after transferring: If you transferred your number from a physical SIM to an eSIM, make sure to remove the physical SIM after setting up the eSIM.
4. Using a physical SIM alongside an eSIM: To use your physical SIM and eSIM in the same device, each SIM will need its own number.
5. Restart your device again: If you have followed steps 2-4 and are still having trouble with your eSIM, try restarting your phone.
