The big questions

What felix gets asked the most
How much does the felix subscription cost, and what's included?
Last updated 19/05/2021

felix is a simple no lock-in contract, $35/month mobile subscription. Your felix SIM gives you unlimited data at speeds of up to 20Mbps and unlimited standard calls and texts in Australia.

It's really easy to bring your current number over to felix too, see how here: Can I keep my existing phone number? (Yes!)

The best part, though, is that we also plant a tree each month for every single customer that holds an active subscription with us (this is on top of being certified carbon neutral and powered by 100% renewable electricity). It's good value with good values.

For full inclusions, head over to the plan page https://felixmobile.com.au/plan/

For International Roaming and Unlimited International Calls and Texts from within Australia, check these out: How much do Unlimited International Calls and Text cost? How much does it cost to get International Roaming on felix?

How do I switch my number to felix?
Last updated 26/05/2021

It's easy as peach pie to switch to felix. Two main things to remember;

- Leave your previous provider's SIM in your phone until your switch is all done (at step 3 below)

- You don't need to let your previous provider know you're switching, we'll look after all that in the back-end for you!

3 steps to switching:

1. Sign up in the felix app, verify your email on your phone, and wait for your new SIM to arrive by Express Post (postage is free!)

2. When you get your un-activated felix SIM in the post, log into the felix app and follow the prompts to begin activation. The switch usually takes just a few minutes when started between 8am and 8pm Sydney time, Mon-Fri*

3. You'll know your SIM is all activated and your switch has gone through when your previous provider's SIM goes into SOS, at which point, you can pop in your peachy felix SIM!

*some switches can take up to 3 hours, but don’t worry, unless something goes awry, your number will continue to work on your previous provider's SIM until it's gone through, so make sure you have credit until you’ve switched.

Is felix post-paid or pre-paid?
Last updated 01/04/2021

felix is a prepaid subscription. It works similarly to a Netflix subscription, it rolls over every month unless you pause or cancel (which are both free to do!).

How do I sign up?
Last updated 10/03/2021

Follow these steps to get set up with felix:

1. Head to https://felixmobile.com.au/app/ to download the free felix app (or search 'felix mobile' in your App Store or Google Play)

2. Follow the prompts in the app to sign up (we don’t run credit checks, and you can keep your current number at no extra cost!)

3. Wait for your SIM to arrive - we send this via Express Post at no extra cost (PS you can send to a PO box too!)

4. When your peachy SIM arrives, activate it in the app and enjoy the sweet feeling of doing good for the planet

PS. You will pay your first month of the subscription when you order your SIM, but your billing cycle won’t start until you activate your SIM.

We hope you love it. Don't forget, you can reach out to the local felix team in the app for any help you may need.

How do you offset your emissions?
Last updated 16/11/2020

We invest in projects that either offset or avoid the same quantity of carbon that we emit by running our business and selling our products.

We have proudly invested in projects that are making a difference to both local and global emissions.

Locally, we have invested in the Aak Puul Ngantam Savanna Burning project which reduces emissions through traditional Indigenous fire management on Australia's Cape York peninsula.

Savanna fire management projects reduce emissions from large, hot fires in the late dry season by implementing planned “cool” burns early in the season. This reduces fuel loads and creates fire breaks, preventing destructive, emissions-intense wildfires later in the dry season. This project employs the knowledge of Traditional Custodians from the the Wik and Kugu communities who work to care for country through cultural burning practices.

We also want to recognise the contribution the felix business has to global carbon emissions. That’s why we have invested in a renewable energy project; Prony and Kafeate Wind Power, in New Caledonia. The wind farms consist of 116 wind turbines that use world class technology to provide New Caledonia with an estimated yearly production of 40 GWh of emissions-free, renewable electricity.
