The big questions

What felix gets asked the most
How much does the felix subscription cost, and what's included?
Last updated 23/08/2021

felix is a pre-paid, no lock-in contract, $35/month mobile subscription. Your felix SIM gives you unlimited data at speeds of up to 20Mbps and unlimited standard calls and texts in Australia.

It's really easy to bring your current number over to felix too, see how here: How do I switch my number to felix?

The best part, though, is that we also plant a tree each month for every single customer that holds an active subscription with us (this is on top of being certified carbon neutral and powered by 100% renewable electricity). It's good value with good values.

For full inclusions, head over to the plan page https://felixmobile.com.au/plan/

For International Roaming and Unlimited International Calls and Texts from within Australia, check these out: How much do Unlimited International Calls and Text cost? How much does it cost to get International Roaming on felix?

How do I sign up?
Last updated 12/01/2022

Follow these steps to get set up with felix:

1. Head to https://felixmobile.com.au/buy to sign up, or you can download the felix app to sign up (search 'felix mobile' in your App Store or Google Play)

2. Follow the sign up prompts. It's here you'll let us know if you want to bring your current number over to felix or get a peachy new one

3. Choose to order and activate with an eSIM on your compatible device, or we can send you a peachy physical SIM in the mail (we send this via Express Post at no extra cost to your home address, PO Box, or Parcel locker)

4. When your peachy SIM arrives, activate it in the app and enjoy the sweet feeling of doing good for the planet. If you chose to sign up with an eSIM, you can activate it right away!

PS. You will pay your first month of the subscription when you first sign up, but your billing cycle won’t start until you’ve activated your service in the app.

How do I switch my number to felix?
Last updated 12/01/2022

It’s quick and easy to switch over to felix. Two main things to remember;

- Leave your current provider's active SIM in your phone until your switch is all done (at step 3 below)

- You don't need to let your current provider know you're switching. We'll look after all that in the back-end for you!

3 steps to switching:

1. Sign up in the felix app, verify your email on your phone, and choose to activate your service using an eSIM on your compatible device, or we can send you a peachy SIM in the mail (we’ll express post it for free!)

2. Follow the steps in the app to activate right away if you’re using an eSIM. If you’re waiting for a physical SIM, log into the felix app and follow the prompts to when it arrives. The switch usually takes just a few minutes when started between 8am and 8pm Sydney time, Mon-Fri*.

3. You'll know your felix SIM is activated and your switch has gone through when your previous provider's SIM goes into SOS

*95% of switches are completed within three hours, and most of the time your number will continue to work on your current provider's SIM until the switch is completed.

Is felix post-paid or pre-paid?
Last updated 01/04/2021

felix is a prepaid subscription. It works similarly to a Netflix subscription, it rolls over every month unless you pause or cancel (which are both free to do!).

How do you offset your emissions?
Last updated 16/11/2020

We invest in projects that either offset or avoid the same quantity of carbon that we emit by running our business and selling our products.

We have proudly invested in projects that are making a difference to both local and global emissions.

Locally, we have invested in the Aak Puul Ngantam Savanna Burning project which reduces emissions through traditional Indigenous fire management on Australia's Cape York peninsula.

Savanna fire management projects reduce emissions from large, hot fires in the late dry season by implementing planned “cool” burns early in the season. This reduces fuel loads and creates fire breaks, preventing destructive, emissions-intense wildfires later in the dry season. This project employs the knowledge of Traditional Custodians from the the Wik and Kugu communities who work to care for country through cultural burning practices.

We also want to recognise the contribution the felix business has to global carbon emissions. That’s why we have invested in a renewable energy project; Prony and Kafeate Wind Power, in New Caledonia. The wind farms consist of 116 wind turbines that use world class technology to provide New Caledonia with an estimated yearly production of 40 GWh of emissions-free, renewable electricity.
