Switching WiFi calling on or off

If you’re using a compatible device, WiFi Calling will likely be automatically enabled.

iPhone

Go to Settings > tap Mobile > tap WiFi Calling > toggle WiFi Calling on This iPhone to 'on' or ‘off’. 

Samsung

Go to Settings > tap Connections > tap WiFi Calling > select 'on' or ‘off’. 

Google 

Go to Settings > tap Network and Internet > tap Calls and SMS > tap Wi-Fi calling > toggle Use Wi-Fi calling to 'on' or ‘off’. 

Alternatively, consult your device manufacturer.

Do I need to make WiFi calls differently from standard calls?

Calling a mobile number is generally just like a normal call. However, calls that rely on location to work, such as landlines, 1300 or 1800 numbers, or 000 (emergency services), may not connect successfully when using WiFi calling. 

Calling Landline numbers

Dial the area code, such as 02 or 03, when calling, even if you’re in the same state. If this fails, try switching off WiFi calling and trying again.

Calling 000, 1300 or 1800 numbers

These numbers usually rely on your location to connect you, and WiFi calling may not give your accurate location. To fix this, try switching WiFi calling off, reconnecting to the network and try again. If you call 000 and are not in a Vodafone coverage area, your call will connect to any Australian mobile network that has coverage.
